OUR ROSE GARDENS STARTING TO EXPLODE WITH COLOR!

Happy, Happy Spring from your local Davidsonville/Crofton Photographer!

I have been remiss in getting to my blog writing and have now committed to writing at least once a week!  You know how it is; you start a project, put it on hold, start another project and before you know it...there are all these "unfinished projects" waiting to get done!  Please don't tell me I am the only one out there!!!!   But the projects that are near and dear to me are completed and are successful!  Specifically, the L'IL ANGEL CALENDAR VOTING has raised $20,000 for AAMC NICU!  YES!!!  Cool!  THANK YOU to all of you who contributed in some way:

-the moms and angels who trusted me to take the photos!  I love you all!

-the voters without whom we would not have this grand total!  THANK YOU!! for believing in me and our project!  Know that your money is going to a worthy cause.  (PHOTO presenting the check to AAMC to follow!)

-the supporters..thank you to Mitchelle Stevenson of Edgewater/Davidsonville Patch for reaching out and doing a feature story and a HUGE thank you to John of Eye on Annapolis whose support took us over the top!

Did you know that in the 4 years we have sponsored this charity event, VISUAL CONCEPTS has raised over $60,000 for AAMC NICU??  Does that not say a lot for our community?

The next step in the process is the design of the calendar and then the pre-sales.  We are hoping to start selling the calendar on June 1...stay tuned...

And, here is the 2012 L'il Angel Cover Angel!

With spring upon us, we have been busy at the farmhouse sprucing up and designing our outdoor studio.  Michael is creating a Mediterranean garden spot for portraits with raised garden beds, a project in process with his trusty companion by his side.

Zoe, our Newfoundland is forever hopful of catching one of the many frog residents but hasn't had much luck.  She is due for some grooming soon and I will post the new pics of our Zoe Bear, as I like to call her.

Here are some images of our gardens just waiting for small minds to explore, for beautiful backdrops for family portraits, as well as high school senior portraiture!

JULIA CHILD ROSE

SALLY HOLMES CLIMBING ROSE

If you haven't done so, please make a date to come on over to the Mt. Airy Strawberry Farm to pick some yummy berries.  It is always a favorite for familes and the children delight in discovering that the berries actually don't come from the supermarket!''

JUNE SPECIALS

And, lastly, here are the JUNE specials for you!  We are conducting mini-sessions throughout the year and the 2 biggest ones are coming up:  Mommy and Me portraits for that special man in your life (what better way than to give him a portrait of the family he cherises and loves!) and the Picnic in the Garden...Teddy Bear Picnic in our English Gardens..what better way than to remember your little ones with their playmates.  Hope to see you at one of these specials!!

Also, we conduct mini corporate photo sessions for the executive who needs an updated image for his/her portfolio or website or even for a dating site!  YES, a dating site for those who want to meet the partner of their dreams and what better way than to have a professional portrait.  We all know how expensive that can be so I decided to reserve the last Friday of every month for mini sessions...$99 (outdoor OR studio) and  a minimum of 5 retouched images on a high res CD!

And lastly, here is the information for the MUDDY CREEK ARTISTS GUILD Spring Show June 3-June 5

(As a postscript from a guest's point of view, I would like to say that if you haven't had a chance to attend on of their shows and see the amazing talent that resides in South County, I urge you to take a friend and go!!  I was "bowled over" by what I saw and was delightfully surprised to see the artistry, talent, and organizational skills that go into this wonderful guild!  Kudos to all the organizers, including my wonderful husband/partner, the best of bestest of friends, Michael!)

L'IL ANGEL 2012 UPDATE

The response for the L'il Angel 2012 Calendar fundraiser has exceeded our expectations!  We have been very busy these past few weeks and because of the overwhelming response, we extended the campaign until March 26.  All slots are now completely filled; however, we are taking applications for the "wait" list.  If you or anyone you know is interested in participating, please click here to send me a message or call 410 626 7474.

Once completed, we will post the angels to the website (instructions to reach the gallery will follow).  You will be asked to identify your angel by number (no personal information is given).  Once everyone has verified their angel, we will shortly thereafter go live!  That means the voting will start and will be active for 3 week and to keep you updated on the progress,  I will post the leaders at the end of the first and second week!!  Ask your family and friends to help raised funds and don't forget bake sales and neighborhood garage sales.  The opportunitites are endless so use your resources and creativity to raise funds for AAMC NICU and the new Peds Unit and help your angel make the calendar cut!

On a personal note, I want to thank you for bringing me into your world.  So many of you have shared your stories with me.  I am humbled by your grace, your strength and your courage!  Some of you have lost a child, some of you are battling with a sick child and some of you have recently come out of some very dark days.   Instead of being a victim, you choose to be a victor!  You teach me every day and I am so blessed to have met you and to be your friend and part of your family.   I am looking forward to meeting the remaining angels and then to take this fundraiser to the next level!!!!  Let's rock!
