Local photographer Linda McCarthy of Visual Concepts in Davidsonville last year had the honor of photographing the Thorpe family of Annapolis for a family portrait. Frank Thorpe Sr. had just retired from the Navy and his son, Frank Jr. and daughter-in-law Jillian were headed to Haiti to perform missionary work.
Jillian was caught in the earthquake and miraculously survived after being rescued by her husband, whom she reached on her cell phone They have since returned safely to Annapolis.

January is proving to be a very busy month at Visual Concepts with family, senior and baby photo sessions. It may be cold outside, but it is cozy and warm in our farmhouse/studio where we are buzzing with activity!! Here is our sweetest BellaBaby...3 months and counting!!! She was such a pleasure to photograph and took it all in. I completely fell in love with her!!! Check out those amazing eyes and hair!!! You just know she is going to be a beauty!!! I loved photographing her and her parents and I am so looking forward to her 6 month session. Stay tuned...
In the meantime, we are still collecting names for our Little Angel Model Program which will start next month! This photographer has been busy purchasing new wings, leggings, adorable hats and tutus!! I have a wonderful client whose baby is participating in our Once Upon A Lifetime Program and she is very handy with needle and thread! She made one-of-a-kind "designer" tutus for us and they are spectacular!!! I can't wait to show them off!! I also am working with Cynthia of Flower Follies who is creating custom baby crowns for me and, of course, knowing Cynthia, these are going to be adorable!! Just ask me if I can't wait to get into the Angel Sessions again! Last year, I joked that it always looked like an ostrich exploded in our studio, there were so many feathers everywhere. We had so much fun, lots of laughter and giggles and that is what it is all about...having fun, creating great images and giving back to our hospital! Ultimately, when you give back, you feel good about you and you know how much a difference you make in a tiny life!!!
