To all my recent angel babies and their supporters of AAMC NICU, this letter was really meant for you and I would very much like to share it... What a wonderful Christmas present!!! I am so looking forward to working on the next calendar (our 5th one!!!) in January..stay tuned for details!
December 13, 2011
Dear Linda,
As promised, following is an update on how the NICU has used the generous funds you donated to the department through the Angel Calendar sales.
. With a portion of the funds donated, the NICU purchased a new exam chair and new baby scale. These items will make it easier for the nurses to perform their daily check ups on our babies.
.They purchased ten Medical Syringe Pumps to help staff to deliver precise medications and feedings to our tiny patients.
.Eight nurses were able to attend an educational conference, so they are up to date on the most recent treatments and protocols for NICU babies.
.An Armostrong Medical Crash Cart was purchased. A crash cart provides the necessary medical supplies and equipment for transportation and dispensing of emergency medication/equipment for supplies and equipment for transportation and dispensing of emergency medication/equipment for life support protocols to potentially save a baby's life.
The NICU has seen un upsurge of babies in the past 5 years. AAMC is Maryland's second largest birthing hospital with more that 5,200 births annually - where over 500 of these babies end up in the NICU each year. As you can see, thanks to geneorisity, the NICU has greatly improved the care they are able to provide our tiniest patients because of the new equipment they were able to purchase.
Thanks so much, Linda, for your kindness, generosity, and all around great spirit! You are truly an angel to the NICU.
Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Lisa Michelsen

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

This is a time for family and for creating family memories that will be enjoyed for years to come! I hope this finds you amongst your loved ones this Thanksgiving and that you are blessed with great company, great food and great photos! I have put together my Thanksgiving photo tips for you to get you in the mood. Actually, it is more for me as I rarely photograph my own family. This year, we are having our children here along with Rory's girlfriend so it will be a house full of young guns and I am so looking forward to it! I will post images...
THANKSGIVING PHOTO TIPS
Here are some tips for you for some memorable Thanksgiving photo pics!
1. Be sure your camera's batteries are recharged (do night before) and make sure you have plenty of cards.
2. Photograph guests as they arrive...spontaneous shots! Esp. if they are bringing a dish.
3. Photograph your children throughout the day..helping prepare the table, helping with meal prep, playing with Grandpa/Grandma and cousins and aunts and uncles
4. Get everyone outside for a group shot and then lots and lots of action shots. BIGGEST MISTAKE AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHERS MAKE? Images are too far away. GET IN CLOSE!
5. Photograph the table before everyone sits down. Pay attention to details!
6. Photograph everyone sitting at the table.
7. And, of course, photograph the cleaner uppers!
8. And, finally, photograph the crashers..you know, Grandpa snoozing, Dad watching TV...
9. Get in some photos yourself
10. DELEGATE, DELEGATE, DELEGATE..all day long..nothing to do with photography but give everyone a job so YOU are not doing it all! It's your Thanksgiving Day as well..
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!!!!

Last Saturday, the G Family took advantage of the beautiful fall weather and commissioned Visual Concepts Photography (serving the Greater Annapolis area) to create beautiful, natural family photographs. When they came in for their complimenatry consultation, I immediately fell in love with this family! Their boys are adorable, very bright and curious, so I was very anxious to get started and creating their memories to last them a lifetime! When we met again for the portrait session, their oldest boy immediately wanted to set out for the barn!! He remembered our conversation at the consultation and I promised him I would take him to the barn because there was a tractor there! And, boys being boys, love tractors and Ms. Linda was held to her promise. However, our first stop was at the split rail fence with the trees as a beautiful backdrop. This image held promise that we were going to have a great session!

As luck would have it, Farmer Tim was getting ready for a party at the barn that evening so you can imagine their delight and surprise when he graciously offered them a hay ride! Every child's dream!

Here he is seeing the tractor for the first time! His look says it all!!!
Here they are at the end of the hayride! Pefectly impromptu, perfectly remembered!
Next stop was our garden full of wonder and suprise for two curious minds!
And, then...the pond! How beautiful is this image of two boys fishing??? They didn't catch anything but they did have a lot of fun trying!
And here is a timeless image of them running and playing!!

In years to come, when mom and dad look at these photos, what do you think they will remember??? Memories..beautiful memories of two little boys magically transported to a story book farm scene where they were able to use their creative imagination and play to their hearts' content!!!

CRCC FUNDRAISER
Crofton Regional Recreational Center

We are off to a great start..2 families today...back to back...here are some photos...first family we photographed by the barn and the second family opted for the front porch! I love photographing outdoors at the farmhouse because there are so many options! It helps to have great looking subjects and a great portrait day!

Beautiful fall day with a great backdrop. Can't go wrong with beautiful subjects!!!

The barn always proves to be a great backdrop for family portraits. Love this shot of the girls with their "attitude" poses!!

GREAT FAMILY, GREAT SHOTS..ALL FOR A GREAT CAUSE...
My next family has girls a little more grown up, so we opted for the front porch for that classic Southern family portrait.....

Here is a great close up that shows the connection!

Classic, beautiful individual poses of each of the girls!
We are continuing to accept sessions and if you are interested please email here for more information on how you can give back to your community ($50 to CRCC..tax deductible) and receive beautiful family portraits (free session and 1 11x14).
